Ece & Filippo – A Cushion-Cut Engagement Ring Planned in Secret

This ring is special to me, not only for the design, but also it was created for a friend of mine!

I’m writing this after the proposal, but when everything was happening, it was still a secret. Filippo and I planned the whole thing together, quietly and very carefully. We had to be sneaky and honestly, it was SO fun!

One evening, we were having dinner at their place. I pretended I had just come straight from work and casually mentioned I had a few diamonds with me. Nothing suspicious, right?

I showed her different shapes, mostly out of curiosity. I even thought she might lean toward a Toi & Moi design. But the moment she saw the cushion cut, she chose it instantly. No hesitation. That was the moment everything became clear.

From there, we designed the entire ring around that choice. A 1.5-carat cushion-cut diamond set in white gold — soft, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. A ring that feels timeless, but still very her.

Looking back, it’s one of those projects that reminds me why I love bespoke so much. The ring wasn’t designed from trends or assumptions — it came from an unplanned, honest reaction. And those moments are always the best ones.
